Bob Powell's Gambia Schools & Health Project Ongoing

What is it?

Bob Powell lives and works in Birmingham, UK.  In 1995 he went on holiday to the Gambia and was taken around local villages away from the normal tourist sites.  It was here that he witnessed the real poverty of Gambia.  Wanting to help, he donated £100 towards the building of a much-needed water hole.

And that's how it started.

To date, Bob Powell has raised almost £13million, donated medical equipment and educational supplies (including an ambulance), catering equipment, football kits, provided and set up computers in schools and much, much more.  His energy knows no bounds.  He is an exceptional man.

LATEST NEWS

Two cars and four men are driving from Birmingham (UK) to Banjul (Gambia) on 31 October 2007 in order to raise money to start the Bob Powell's Gambia Schools & Health Project Scholarship. The cars will be donated to the charity and to the Gambian British Legion on arrival.  Come and wave us off in Victoria Square outside the Council House in Birmingham city centre on Tuesday 30 October at 1pm.
